We are now in our sixteenth year of trading, here at The Art of Meat and thankfully we are still enjoying continued success with our range of novel and contemporary products made from the finest locally sourced meats. After leaving a career in Molecular Biology, owner Jon West created a modern take on the traditional butcher's shop.
Beef

HG Blake based in Norfolk. For quality and depth of flavour, we choose native breeds of beef cattle which are sourced from East Anglia thus minimising food miles. Utilising the natural beauty and rich fertile grazing, synonymous with the area for centuries, and marrying traditional grazing with the production of premium livestock.
Sausages

Alongside our standard sausage - the Hobson's Choice - favoured by the renowned food critic Mathew Fort, we stock all of the usual products you would expect to find in a butcher's shop, from traditional Sunday roasting joints to other multi-award winning sausages. All of our sausages are manufactured on site in small batches from a minimum of 85% free range Dingley Dell Pork.
Bacon, ham and free range pork

We produce our own dry cured bacon but in times of high demand we also use some dry cured bacon from our ham supplier Broadland Hams who use only the finest British pork, cured to our 25 year old Norfolk recipe. Importantly, it contains no added water. Less than 3% of pigs farmed in Britain are actually free range, and we are proud to stock free range Blythburgh pork from one of East Anglia's best producers, Jimmy Butler.
Lamb
Report
We stock organically produced lamb from Shimpling Park Farm and HG Blake in Suffolk. HG Blake's English Lamb is sourced from carefully selected local farmers while Shimpling Park, a carbon negative farm, are proud producers of organic clover fed lamb. Our sheep graze only on organic grass and clover 365 days a year as part of our crop rotation.
