Services
Tree Surgery
Border Tree Services provides comprehensive tree surgery, including crown reduction, stump removal, and heritage tree maintenance. Our team uses industry-standard techniques to ensure tree health and safety while adhering to BS3998 guidelines. Clients benefit from tailored solutions that enhance property aesthetics and mitigate risks.
Tree Inspections
Professional tree inspections assess structural integrity and health, offering detailed reports for insurance or maintenance purposes. Conducted by certified arboriculturist Johnny Watson, our evaluations identify risks and recommend sustainable care strategies to prolong tree lifespan and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Timber Supply
We supply seasoned hardwood and softwood for furniture, joinery, and firewood, sourced sustainably from the Yarrow Valley. Our timber undergoes rigorous drying processes to ensure durability, with options ranging from decorative planks to kiln-dried logs for efficient burning and environmental compliance.
Firewood Sales
Kiln-dried firewood is available in bulk or sacks, ideal for stoves and biomass boilers. Each log is air-seasoned for two summers before kiln-drying, guaranteeing low moisture content for cleaner burns and reduced chimney residue, ensuring optimal heat output and environmental responsibility.
Woodchip Mulch
Partially composted woodchip mulch enriches soil and suppresses weeds, suitable for garden borders and pathways. Sourced as a byproduct of tree surgery, our mulch supports sustainable landscaping while improving soil structure and moisture retention for long-term garden health.

Report
The team were fantastic - quickly and safely taking down a huge tree that had been planted too close to the house. The team cut the tree to use for the fire and also quickly chipped mixed hedge cuttings. The team left the garden and drive tidy - it was like we never had a tree :o)

Previously purchased logs from various places throughout the Scottish Borders, all of which did not burn properly as had moisture. Now purchase logs from Jonny (always hardwood), which are fully kiln dried and burn efficiently. Delivered to home in Innerleithen - great service. Thanks
