Border Tree Services was established in 1994 by current owner, Johnny Watson, following his completion of an HND in Arboriculture at Durham. The company, based in the beautiful Yarrow Valley, offers a broad array of tree services from hedge trimming to complex felling and supplies characterful timber, seasoned logs and woodchip.

Tree Surgery
Report
Removal of the outermost portion of tree branches or side branches to reduce the tree's height. The woodchip produced can either be retained by the client or we can take it away to be recycled. Our work is carried out to BS3998, which means that we won't stress your trees by removing too much, or by using incorrect pruning cuts.
Firewood & Logs
Report
All our firewood is responsibly sourced from the Scottish Borders and is seasoned for two summers before being finished off in the kiln. Unless otherwise stated all our logs are kiln dried and approx 25cm long. Beware Unseasoned Wood: Logs with a high moisture content are frustrating to light, damage your stove and your chimney, and even when taking burn time into consideration they give a far lower total heat output.
Other Products

Our partially composted woodchip makes an excellent mulch for borders and can also be used for paths. Eventually it rots down into a good soil enriching compost. Sold by the trailer load.
