The Coventry based company was established in 1980 as Paragon Motors by Jeff Donely and Geoff Wise, both Auto Transmission instructors at Jaguar Rover Triumph, doing general service and MOT work, but specialising in auto transmissions.
A play on words to promote the speciality image resulted in Paramatic Auto Transmissions (P.A.T.), although customers (who we still retain to this day) refer to us as just Paragon. At Paragon Auto Testing we believe in making sure the vehicle is roadworthy and we have installed the very latest MAHA drive through automated test lane for all class 4 cars and light commercial and class 1 & 2 motorcycles.

Absolutely delighted I found this place.....I phoned up and the guy on the other end of the phone said sure bring it in now we will squeeze you in,. i went and was greeted with a truly professional service and a true gentleman and total professional guy, I found this guys name to be Ross, he did my car and I was delighted, my car actually failed on that day, but what it failed on was necessary and still I was very happy, I got the work done and phoned them on the DAY my re test expired, "sure said the voice on the other end of the phone bring it now ". They did the retest , and checked the work

Well, this was the first time I took my LWB motor caravan for an MOT at Paragon MOT Testing Centre after a friend recommended this place. One of the big positives is that the garage does not do repairs and therefore not seeking trivial issues or to do unnecessary work to make money from the vehicle owners. It to me seemed to be a very fair and honest establishment with decent prices and 2 very friendly staff who even proivided me with a cup of tea while I waited.
The inspection was thorough and I really felt that Mark who carried out the test was a genuinely decent friendly chap, someone of integrity

Easily the best MOT experience I've had! My car passed but with a couple of advisories - Mark kindly talked me through each of the advisories and made recommendations on repairers & brands to use etc.
The MOT itself was prompt and fully complete within 45 mins.
The garage and workshop has so much character and oozes nostalgia which I really appreciate. Old School vibes, absolutely love it.
Highly recommend Paragon and will be using them for life.

I have already done four MOTs with Jeff and Mark and while there are most likely hundreds of other MOT garages between my place and Paragon (almost 20 miles return), I have already booked my fifth. There are a lot of things I like about Paragon, Jeff and Mark:
- they show no interest in ripping you off. There was one small issue with the headlights and Jeff sorted it without asking for anything - you show me another shop that will not fail you only to charge you another £20 to sort it out?
- they have a couple of old racing cars and a small plane (albeit none of them look functional) in the
