The Carriers Arms
We are a family run pub and restaurant situated in the beautiful village of East Bergholt, deep in the heart of Constable Country. Nestled within the Suffolk countryside lies the village of East Bergholt, historically famous for the 18th/19th century painter John Constable. East Bergholt also lays home to the 'old english' style pub and restaurant 'The Carriers Arms' formally known as 'The Carrick Arms', according to the 1881 census.

A carrier is an old trade usually referring to the landlord also providing transport for goods e.g. The Carriers is a Grade 2 listed building offering a large fireplace and beamed ceilings, hinting at the buildings historical origins being 14th century in one half and 15th century in the other. Sharon and Martin have kept many of the original features, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
