My grandfather was a master craftsman in upholstery serving Edinburgh from the 1930's. As a youngster I enjoyed many school holidays as a junior apprentice, I was fascinated at the way he could take an old chair/sofa, restore and give new life to an item that only days before had looked certain to be heading for the bin. I felt at home in the workshop
