Cutting Edge Podiatry
We are qualified and experienced health care professionals that specialise in diagnosing and treating foot problems. We are also best placed to provide you with advice on how to look after your feet and the type of shoewear to choose. Common conditions that we can treat or alleviate are ingrown toenails by performing a nail surgery under local anaesthesia or painful feet when walking or running by prescribing custom-made orthotics or insoles.

We are conscious that pain and discomfort can lead to falls, aggravating injuries, immobility and feelings of isolation and so whatever the underlying cause, our mission is to restore mobility and the well-being of our patients.

About Your Podiatrist
Report
I have been a qualified podiatrist for 21+ years. I graduated from Northampton School of Podiatry in 2000 with an upper 2:1 degree following a successful 11 year career in the RAF. These days I am a keen golfer (time permitting) but previously I enjoyed playing hockey to a high standard, playing National League Indoor Hockey and RAF, Combined Services Hockey and ran the London Marathon in 2005.
Corns & Callus
Report
Calluses are layers of thickened skin, usually occurring as a response to abnormal pressures on the soles of the feet and on the knuckles of toes. Where the pressure is greatest, often over a joint on the toe or under the foot, the thickened skin becomes incredibly hard. This hard skin then feels painful to walk on.
Verrucae
Report
Effective and quick treatment using Swift machine has an 76% success rate* against verrucae. Some people never have verrucaes. Some people get lots of them. If you have a predisposition to getting them it is best to confront them early rather than leave it until they become established. Established verrucae take longer to treat and can be more painful underfoot.
Ingrown Toenail
Report
An ingrown toenail develops when the sides of the nail grow, curl and pierce into the surrounding skin. An ingrown toenail often affects the big toe, on one or both sides. The surrounding skin becomes red, swollen and tender. It is crucial to see to a foot care specialist if the toenail is presenting symptoms of infection such as heat, throbbing pain, bleeding or letting pus out.
Biomechanical Assessment
Report
A Biomechanics assessment is an investigation into your lower limb function looking closely for abnormalities and compensations. When we stand, walk or run our body has to cope with and compensate for these anomalies. It is these compensations that put structures such as muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons under undue strain as they begin functioning in an abnormal or compromised manner.
