The best name to know when it comes to buying a vintage bed and creating elegant country house interiors. Founded in 1990 by Shabs Kay, Victorian Dreams started trading out of of Shabs' house. The business then quickly outgrew the confines of her home and so she began her search for a unique showroom.

We at Victorian Dreams always have a large selection of metal bedsteads in stock. Many of the bedsteads originated in this country during the latter part of the 19th century, and were also very popular in France, Spain, Ireland and Portugal. We have lots of unrestored beds, so if you are looking for something specific, please get in touch!

We have a super selection of unique French upholstered bed frames in stock, in a variety of styles and sizes. They have been a perennial favourite in France over the last 100 years. In some cases we can supply them in the original fabrics, condition permitting.
However, we offer an upholstery service using the fabric of your choice - we have over 100 fabric books including Sanderson, GP & J Baker, Zoffany, Linwood, Romo etc, available for viewing.The bed frames are usually made in beech and are offered in both natural wood finishes or any number of paint effects.

Caned bedsteads are a popular alternative to heavy wooden bedsteads as they create a lighter look in the room. Many of these beds originate in France, and were manufactured during the late 19th and 20th century. Some are elaborately painted and gilded, others just display the simple beauty of aged cane and wood.

There are two main types of mattresses: pocket sprung and coil sprung. Our pocket sprung mattresses offer sumptuous comfort with individual springs which are sewn into their own pockets of fabric. This type of spring provides much more support and comfort than an open coil mattress.
