The Clock Workshop
We are now fully open to the public to both receive and collect work, and are able to conduct house visits. My sincere thanks to The Clock Workshop for its excellent service and for restoring my carriage clock, which has worked perfectly ever since. Having tried several other clock repairers, I had almost given up hope - my faith in craftmanship has been restored!

About Us
Report
At The Clock Workshop in Reading all our staff have over 35 years' experience in horological restoration. While we are all able to tackle most jobs, each of us has expertise in particular fields, including major rebuilds of early English work, Carriage clock restoration and replacements (including the delicate work required for platform overhaul and repair), Barometer restoration and Marine Chronometer work.
Restoration Services
Report
Our clock restoration department was originally started in 1981 by John Yealland to provide a bespoke service for London dealers. This included major replacement work, as well as full overhauls of high quality clocks. Since that time, The Clock Workshop in Reading has expanded to a highly experienced team, initially trained in the British Horological Institute and the West Dean College courses.
Workshop
Report
At The Clock Workshop in Reading we research, design and manufacture all missing movement parts in keeping with the original. While we have appropriate clockmakers' and watchmakers' lathes, most of the work is done by hand in our own workshop. Clock making and repairing is an old art and our workshop practices are inherited from years of experience garnered by the thousands of clockmakers that have gone before us.
