I believe in better homes; better value, better for society and better for the environment. I think we can achieve this if people have the chance to customise their own homes to suit their needs and their budget. I started in the property industry as a contractor and then became a developer. I ended up building my own home in 2009 and have striven to enable more people to do the same ever since.

Each year only 6% of new homes are designed by architects, and less than 1% are self-builds (like Grand Designs). We want to encourage a better supply of high quality well designed homes to be available to more people who are looking to move. And as there's not a lot to choose from, we started running masterclasses in collaboration with Archiboo for those who wanted to become an independent developer.
