All our Osteopaths qualified from different schools of Osteopathy, bringing with them a vast range of techniques which enhance the natural ability of the body to heal. These include: Traditional (Massage, Mobilisation & Manipulation), Cranial, & Visceral techniques. Also Harmonics, MET, Taping and Acupuncture, so we are sure to have an osteopath to suit you and your needs!

All offer specific exercises and lifestyle tips to reduce the risk of reoccurrence. All of our Osteopaths are registered with the Osteopathy governing body the GOsC. Rachel Phillimore established her practice in Chard soon after graduating in 1991. Mother to four boys, Rachel loves the challenge of every new patient!

Traditional & Cranial Osteopathy

Osteopaths utilise a wide variety of techniques to improve joint mobility, reduce tension in soft tissues, improve circulation and free trapped and irritated nerves to bring freedom from pain and discomfort. This is what most people expect from an Osteopath. It involves Manipulation (clicking joints), Mobilisation (rhythmic movements of joints) and stretching of the soft tissues (Massage and other techniques.)
Children’s & Perinatal Mothers Clinic

Rachel Phillimore (Senior Osteopath) with the help from her Associates run this helpful clinic. It is a time for Babies, children (12yrs or under only), and perinatal women. The effective yet very gentle technique known as Cranial Osteopathy is used in paediatric and the perinatal Osteopathic care.
Conditions Treated

We treat many patients in their 80's and 90's who benefit from gentle mobilisation and stretching of joints that are suffering from wear and tear (osteoarthritis), but all ages may benefit from treatment to any joint that is not functioning smoothly. A wide variety of techniques are employed to improve mobility including manipulation, mobilisation, and massage of local muscles.
Kinesiology

In the 1970's Michael worked in the Health Food Trade. This inspired him to learn as much as possible in regard to maintaining health and well-being. During this process of seeking to know more he discovered the therapy called Kinesiology. He was inspired by the potential of this incredible process to help people on so many levels.
Counselling

Having worked with young people, young adults and their families for many years Trudi decided to train as a counsellor spending 4 years doing so. Trudi is very caring and is hoping to further her skills this year by extending her knowledge at Master's level. Everybody's experiences are different and by drawing from a wide range of therapeutic models she tailors your theraphy to fit your needs.
