5/5, Exceptional food, amazing service, big portions with quality as the centre focus, rare to get both, best restaurant in Hertfordshire. For starters I had the Calamari which that alone would make me come back, best Calamari Ive ever had. For my main meal I had the Rib-Eye Steak which was cooked perfectly, which I had with Zucchini and red whine jus sauce. The meat was one of the best cuts Ive ever had and upon talking with the owner Theo, he was very passionate in saying that they go out of their way to get Donald Russel cuts, was amazing, compliments to the chef.

Would like to say a big Thank You to Theo,Stella and all the staff at The Gables for making my daughters 30th party so special on Saturday. We had great service and as usual great food!! Would recommend the room upstairs if your planning a party (limited people for safety reasons), but room big enough for a dance! Thanks again Gables,See you soon!!

Had the opportunity to eat at The Gables today and introduce a good friend to this restaurant, we had a wonderful meal. Fish at this restaurant is very good, as is the rest of the menu. It's been a few years since I last visited having moved away from the area, but was not disappointed with the food and ambience. Its not the cheapest restaurant, but you get what you pay for these days and I think it's well worth the journey to eat good food. Thanks Guys

Fantastic food and service. Had the most amazing Sunday roast at Gables this afternoon. The portions are very generous, great value for money. You certainly wont leave hungry. We had our 2 year old with us and were offered a high chair or a cushion. The firm cushion was a perfect booster for the chair and meant our daughter felt fully included at the table. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. We will definitely be back.

We ate here on Thursday, quite possibly the best calamari we have ever tasted! Super attentive waiters, all staff lovely and pleasant. Food and wine outstanding! 5 stars
