Located in the small Essex village of Cressing, Il Salice Italian restaurant is housed in a listed former Inn, lovingly restored by us. It dates back some 500 years and comes complete with original oak beams and fire places as you'd expect. The menu offered is the culmination of 25 years experience and long stays in the various regions of Italy.
Our goal is to bring to your table very traditional dishes which rely on simplicity, taste, flavour and genuine Italian ingredients to make them outstanding. As all our food is produced by us from raw ingredients, we know exactly what's in it. Without an additive in sight it not only tastes good but does you good!

Our menu is a culmination of 25 years' experience and long stays in Italy, delivering tradition, simplicity, taste and flavour. All of our dishes are made with the freshest ingredients available on the local market and our Italian products are imported from Italy. We try our very best to cater for people with allergies and food intolerance.

8oz sirloin steak char-grilled to your liking with either green peppercorn, mushroom or Stilton cheese sauce, served with our Sauted Vegetables. Slow cooked lamb shank in minted gravy, served on a bed of creamy mash with seasonal vegetables. Lamb's liver cooked to your liking with smoked bacon and onions, served on a bed of mashed potato and topped with red wine gravy.

Freshly made daily with layers of mascarpone and soft sponge drenched in our espresso coffee and all soaked in amaretto. Oven baked Italian-style bread and butter pudding with fluffy Panettone, served with ice cream. A generous selection of different cheeses with array of savoury biscuits, served on a wooden platter with grapes and olives.
