Birchwood Medical Practice provides primary care services in Lincoln. Our practice is led by seven GP Partners. We hold an NHS General Medical Services contract that enables us to serve 10,700 registered patients. As a member of the Apex Primary Care Network, we work jointly with other local practices to offer services. This collaboration allows us to offer clinics outside normal opening hours. My partner and I recently registered with this practice. So far, been very impressed. Dealt with Dr. Gough regarding a problem. Prompt phone call and the necessary prescription issued. Receptionist, Ashley, extremely pleasant and helpful. Having come from a not so good practice, very reassuring to be registered with an efficient, caring practice. We decided to go with this practice as our next door neighbour was seriously ill and one of the doctors, Dr. Williams, visited him several times at home following his discharge from hospital.

Fantastic reception staff, nurses and doctors. Really undignified systems for booking appointments. I can only imagine what the elderly and those without mobile phones have to endure in trying to see a doctor. Perhaps if the telephone queue was a bit longer it could accommodate more people trying to call rather than waiting till theres only 2 people in the queue. The photo shows I called 100 times in 10 minutes, literally hanging up and redialling as soon as I got a busy signal.

Absolutely awful booking system for appointments. They have an online booking system, but they don't take advanced bookings. So the only way to get an appointment is to call at 8am. Completely pointless.

Poor management and poor methods of practice in booking appointments in advance. Plus every time I've been I've had to see a different doctor, i don't have a gp just whatever doctor isn't busy. I thought my old doctors in gainsborough was poor for having a 6 week waiting for appointments, but this is even worse.
