The Royal Thai is a family run restaurant and the chefs are Thai, meaning you can enjoy an authentic Thai meal in a family friendly restaurant. The menu is very varied but we also have the familiar classics such as Pad Thai and Thai Green Curry. You can also enjoy Royal Thai specials such as Yam Pla Salmon or Sua Rong Ha which is a Grilled marinated beef served with salad and Thai spicy sauce on the side.

Great food and prices are good too - would go back again. one star knocked off for slow service - was sitting around waiting to order a drink for over 10min and then had to get someone's attention.

Food was absolutely amazing, lovely and fresh!!.. Small portions but great service and such good food. The restaurant was a bit small.. Table was rocking a bit, basic layout and toilet could have been monitored to a better standard. But otherwise.. Nice overall

This is a terrible restaurant with low-quality food. Not only was the food badly cooked and poorly flavoured, it was served lukewarm. Deeply unimpressed considering other reviews tell a different story. Not good.

Lovely family run business. Been here a few times and have never been let down. Very authentic Thai dishes which taste amazing! You know it is good when the spring rolls aren't oily!

Delicious and authentic Thai food at reasonable prices. Their spice levels will satisfy if you like it hot! Portion sizes are sufficient but could be just slightly larger.

Booked a table for 1pm today which the restaurant took on the phone on Wednesday only to find they were closed and only opening at 5pm. We had travelled from Milton Keynes to meet family there. Not impressed at all! Luckily the Thai restaurant a few doors downs were able to seat us instead!

I use to was crazy about this place. However for one reason or another I haven't visited there for about 2 years. Therefore I can't even express how disappointed I was to discover that the food wasn't nowhere as delicious as it use to be.
Mixed starter plate was ok...fishcakes were really chevy though.
The vegetarian curry was lacking in flavour and it seemed like the only vegetable that was added to the dish were potatoes and dried soya cubes :(

Some reviews rave about this place, some are scathing. Some are in the middle, and that's where I am.

Fish cake starters were perfectly edible, and my veggie red curry was fine - if a little stingy on the tofu. Likewise, the fried banana ice-cream was nice. None of it was extraordinary.

Still, for a pre-gig quickie, it works. Others agree: it was packed. Plus, it's v reasonable: two beers, a starter and main for about £20. Bargain.

Poor quality food. I confirmed the takeaway order with them twice in person and once on the phone and we were given an incorrect dish (instead of pineapple chicken with cashews it was mushrooms, onions & chicken). The person who received the incorrect order hates mushrooms and onions, so that was a bummer. Red curry was decent.

Some changes have occurred at Royal Thai, most notably they've moved. Next door.

This isn't as odd as it seems, now they have twice the amount of seating space and even additional seating in a downstairs area whereas before conditions could become a little... cosy.

Little has changed with the menu, all as it was prior to the move just with some new additions. And alcohol! No longer a BYOB establishment but now a non-BYOB establishment (just like a normal restaurant really). I believe they also accept card payments now too. So, all modern and up to date then. I think a majority of the

I absolutely love this place. I don't know why it has received such mixed reviews as the food has always been amazing, especially as a vegetarian. I love the Thai Green and the mixed veg and tofu with Cashew and pineapple. Garlic galore in that dish. Ian has always commented that the meat, especially the Pork is a good quality unlike what you may get elsewhere. The cost is extremely reasonable, the atmosphere is extremely pleasant, and I think Bring Your Own Booze is a bonus as you can pop to Tesco across the road and buy a cheap bottle of bubbly and enjoy a fantastic meal!!

Rude, and inconsiderate. I called ahead to ensure that they were open for dinner because they were closed when I walked by during the day. The woman assured me that they were indeed open for dinner, so I said great I will head over. I walked 10 minutes in cold London rain only to be told that they were booked solid. I said "but I just called here and verified..". She said yes and I told you that we were open..... Gee thanks. No efforts were made to offer me to stay and wait for a table to open up. Just a "sorry" and showed me the door. I don't care how good the

Brilliant lunch menu at a great price. I tend to judge a Thai restaurant by their pad thai (as it is standard fare) and then branch off from there.

The soups and starters were perfect, the mains fantastic, the teas made perfectly, and the staff were bubbly and smiled a lot.

If you are near Kings Cross and are craving a Thai, pop by here. Your stomach will thank you.

Kings Cross...not exactly the finest area in London for lunch time eating. And trust me, I've tried a selection of places by now and nothing stands out as amazing.

Royal Thai is one such place...it's okay, but not the best Thai food you'll ever taste. They have a lunch time special offer which means you get a starter and main with rice for £10 which makes it value for money, but if you stray from this offer it all adds up pretty quickly - and you don't really feel that it's worth it for the quality of the food you'll get.

The food comes in generous portions
