Once home to a medieval brewery it now proudly serves Arkell's award winning ales, family brewers since 1843. Being part of the historic London-Bristol coaching route the Lansdowne Strand is situated on the A4. As you'd expect from a historic 16th century Grade II Listed building most rooms are complimented by beautiful sash windows.

For a relaxing drink take to our to our panelled snug. Characterful and filled with timeless charm the snug is a cosy corner to sit by the crackling fire with a drink or two. With beautiful period sash windows and a roaring open fire, the lounge is a comfortable space to sink into soft seating and sofas.
Functions, meetings and private dining

By morning our breakfast room, throughout the rest of the day the Harris room is available for functions and events. For special occasions or meetings, make use of the privacy of our Regent Room. With space at the table for fourteen and two leather sofas to sink into with a post-meal brandy or coffee this room offers all the privacy of your own dining room but without any of the work!

You can't miss the Lansdowne hotel in Calne. Located in the centre of Calne, the hotel is located on the A4, just 15 minutes from the M4. Free parking is available in our courtyard. Unfortunately our coaching inn was created in a time of true horse power and as such our courtyard offers only limited parking.
