Established as a cornerstone of Armagh's heritage, the Charlemont Arms Hotel embodies centuries of history and hospitality. Originally the residence of Dr. Atkinson, the property evolved into a hostelry in the 1760s, later renamed in honour of the Earl of Charlemont. Acquired by the Forster family in 1934, three generations have dedicated themselves to preserving its legacy while embracing modern enhancements. The 1999 renovations expanded our offerings to include 30 guest rooms, a revitalised restaurant, and event spaces, achieving Northern Ireland Tourist Board 3-star standards.Under the leadership of Helen and Judith Forster, we continue to blend historical charm with contemporary comforts, ensuring every guest experiences the warmth and excellence that have defined our reputation for over 90 years. Really enjoyable stay. Staff friendly, rooms very comfortable. Convenient to the city centre with ample car parking. Would definitely stay again

Food and staff brilliant. Wernt told that lift wasn't working when we arrived. As our room was on second floor. Quite a lot of stairs. No welcome pack for tea and coffee in our rooms.

Really lovely staff, good choice on menu. Place has been done up and is nice fresh and clean. All covid rules adhered to. We chose the 2 courses, main and dessert very reasonably priced. We both had the roast beef, looked and tasted divine! Followed by trifle, beautifully presented- must say the portions were great, value for money.Cant wait to go back.

Old needs up dating tiles coming up in bathroom mold around bath and tiles
Dinner was lovely but breakfast over done it was like it was done an hour before hand .. if you go out at night to one of the near by bars you be waiting on someone to get up to open the doors for you we where banging on the door for a good 30 to 40 minutes had to ring my daughter to get out of bed to come down and open the door as she did the porter came from the back door try to tell me he was gone for 2 minutes only .. now it has the pretension to be a great place if it's done up staff were lovely and friendly
