Fantastic experience. Run by the owners, the husband being front of house, greets you on arrival and serves you throughout your stay, while the wife is the mastermind in the kitchen (apologies, we didn't catch either of their names). Beautiful, & tastefully decorated guest house, with a number of reception rooms. The food was also amazing, definitely worth the money, and the journey to get there. We will definitely be returning to stay the night sometime, just to experience the tasting menu!

Paul and Joyce were very attentive. The house was lovely, very tastfully decorated and the food was superb. The pets were good fun o have around and very well trained. The perfect honeymoon break. Couldn't recommend it more

Oh my goodness, I cannot describe the experience we had today at Blackwell House. I was treated to afternoon tea by my daughter, accompanied by my sister, my other daughter and my niece. It was amazing from start to finish. The attention to detail was something else. Such a hidden gem in the heart of the countryside. Highly recommend if you ever get a chance to visit.

We had a lovely stay at Blackwell House last week. Although we got unlucky with the weather it didn't hamper our experience and we really enjoyed relaxing in the house. Check-in was quick and easy (room was spotlessly clean) and we then had tea and homemade scones in the garden room. The dinner a few hours later was amazing and as I told Joyce, I hadn't enjoyed a meal as much in a long time. She also makes really good wheaten bread, banana bread and shortbread! Steve is the perfect host , always making sure we were OK and didn't need anything. We enjoyed chatting with him and he was very helpful

We had the most amazing stay at Blackwell House. It is definitely the most fabulous guest house/hotel that I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was fantastic. Steves hospitality was incredible and he really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The outdoor hot tub is so beautiful and a lovely way to spend an evening . If you want a luxurious countryside break, I highly recommend Blackwell House.
