In 1974, I embarked on a career in the property profession as a trainee surveyor. I was thrilled to qualify as a Chartered Surveyor in 1978 and became a Fellow shortly after. In those days, a surveyor did everything including sales, lettings, surveys, commercial, valuations and other professional work.
I was excited to open my first Andrew Craig office in Gateshead, in 1990. We now have twelve branches and we still provide all of those diverse services but in the modern environment, they are provided by different specialists. This is a true family business and I am privileged to work daily with my wife and three daughters, who all have specialist roles.
