Known for being one of Bath's longest established independent restaurants, the Olive Tree - located below the individualistic Queensberry Hotel on Russel Street - was awarded its first Michelin Star in 2018. This distinction is in addition to the restaurant's 3 AA Rosette status. Need somewhere to rest your weary head after a night of indulgence and perhaps one or two of our finest wines?
You needn't stray far as plump pillows, and the finest cotton sheets await in one of our bedrooms. Visit The Queensberry Hotel website to select a suitably stylishly characterful abode. You will find an unusual edge to what you will have once thought simple flavours - both the SIX and NINE menus are comprised of beautiful, fresh, seasonal dishes.

About Us
Report
It does look like poor form, we agree, not Queensberry Rules at all. But, as unseemly violence goes, it's not the most mindless; there's a principle at stake, and the right to a lasting legacy. Allow us to introduce Miss Cherry Beckford and Miss Olive Snodgrass. After whom is a fabulous restaurant to be named?
The Rules
Report
If the original Marquis of Queensberry could fashion twelve rules to create decency and order from the potential chaos of boxing, then surely we - in honour of the man after whom we are named - can do likewise for hospitality? Rules prevent us from drowning in confusion and mayhem. They codify and simplify: the rules of nature (water will not run uphill); the rules of decency (no, after YOU ); and now, the New Queensberry Rules.

We love to work with other local businesses. Being independent and part of a strong Bath and West Country economy matters to us, so there is more than talking about it, we do it.
Whether it is food businesses, casinos, tour operators, florists or specialists in adrenaline sports, if they are good at what they do and can help you enjoy Bath even more, then of course we want to point you in their direction (and offer you some great deals at the same time). We try to use local and regional companies, too, to help us with our work, from marketing and websites to all kinds of design.

The Olive Tree can be found below the popular and acclaimed Queensberry Hotel, a beautifully quirky and quirkily beautiful, townhouse hotel. Head Chef, Chris Cleghorn oversees a menu which draws heavily on high-quality local produce.
It might sound like an idle claim (it's something you hear bandied about a lot these days), but Bath is lucky to be surrounded by exceptional, lush farmland; we've taken the time and trouble to build up great relationships with local suppliers of fruit, vegetables, cheeses and meat. The highest compliment we can pay such bounty is to make sure we have an inventive Head Chef fashioning it into a striking, delicious and frequently-changing menu.
