Been supporting Clements for over 10 years, rather than the big chains. Generally receive great service in Rosemary St, Botanic etc but with one regular exception which disappoints and infuriates. Clements… Ballyhackamore. It seems that customers are an inconvenience and burden on staff; preferring to chat loudly amongst themselves and their invited counter friends and ignore waiting customers. Then, if you attempt to get their attention, a surly, scolding face eventually arrives to take your order, chagrined by the fact that you have disturbed their chat and you had the audacity to ask

This used to be my favourite coffee shop in Botanic, but standards have really slipped. You can often be waiting over 10 minutes to be served while, despite the fact there are plenty of staff. The coffee, food etc is good, but because it takes so long to be served, its not somewhere you can come for a quick bite to eat.

I'm a regular customer here, but have noticed they have gone downhill lately! The drinks (coffee / hot chocolate) are not as nice as they used to be. Was here yesterday but couldn't finish the drink. It's as though they are a kin g their drinks more with water than milk and I'm not paying 4.00 to drink hot water! They have a high turnover of staff and I think there standards have fallen.
Don't think I'll be back for while
