Yoga Point is an independent yoga studio in Brixton, set up by Vaccasin and Rebecca Hopwood in 2010. It is light, spacious and fully equipped. We wanted to create somewhere that is unpretentious and non performative. Somewhere people can come together and practice yoga and meditation as part of a friendly, straightforward, supportive community.
The teachers are the most important part of any studio and our aim is to run Yoga Point as a collaboration between our teachers and ourselves. This studio is run on a profit-share basis. We do not generally have introductory offers for classes in the studio as we prioritise our teachers over packing out a class.

Hatha flow
Report
Hatha yoga is a very broad term referring to any physical yoga practice. As such all yoga practised at Yoga Point falls within 'hatha yoga'. However, hatha yoga has come to mean classes that are less intense than the generally faster paced vinyasa, flow or power classes. It is worth noting that one hatha class can vary from another.
Slow flow
Report
There are sequences in this class where you will move from one asana (posture) to another with the breath and there will be slower sections of the class where you will hold the asanas (postures) for longer. Depending on who is teaching the class, Slow flow can vary quite a lot so it is worth checking who is teaching the class to get an idea of what it will be like.
Vajrasati
Report
Vajrasati Yoga was founded by Jim Tarran. It is a straightforward practice of Modern Postural Yoga i.e. body work. Interwoven into the practice of the asanas is the spirit of the yoga movement as it has come down to us through its various influences such as Tantra, Raja, Advaita Vedanta and Buddhism.
Yin yoga
Report
Yin yoga is suitable for all levels of yoga practitioner, it is a slow form where lying and seated poses are held for a longer period of time (using supports) allowing the body to move gently into deeper stretches. We can let go of any striving and connect to our inner experience, creating time for silent reflection.
Yoga Nidra
Report
Yoga nidra is a form of guided meditation, often referred to as yogic sleep. It is usually practised lying down with any bolsters, cushions and blankets needed to ensure you are comfortable. While deeply relaxed the inner world becomes more available, emotions, thoughts and our sense of self, both conscious and unconscious is explored.
