That's why every week we deliver 5 fully prepared meals to Joe in Whitley Bay. It's why we take a selection of delicious sausages to Mrs Trowell in Tynemouth. Furthermore it is why we deliver 4 pies every Friday afternoon to the Rance Family around the corner. Mrs Trowell called in for two steak pies, a fresh batch was baking in the oven that weren't quite ready, so we dropped them off for her!

Nicholson's Butchers was established in 1914 in the same premises it occupies to this very day by Charles Nicholson, who was followed by his son, also named Charles - followed by his son Doug, who spent time as a deep sea engineer in the Merchant Navy, though always knew butchery was in his blood and that he would he would join the family business.

In addition over many years we've built strong and valued relationships. Freshly prepared sausages, burgers, kebabs, steaks, gammon and ready to eat dishes are prepared here by our expert butchers.

Your pantry

We provide the freshest seasonally available stock fresh from the local market. Doug is up bright and early twice a week. They visit Gateshead market before 6am to select the freshest produce to ensure you always get the best available. In addition Doug always encourages the team to taste everything first!
