Have used this hotel on several occasions over the last few years without any problems. However on this occasion I had to request another room as the bedroom was cold due to a faulty radiator valve. I am not aware of a lift to the 2nd floor and reception is up a flight of steps. I would not recommend it to anyone with mobility problems.

Very convenient hotel for both the metro centre & Newcastle .Warm and friendly staff and clean warm rooms. It is our 3rd visit and have always enjoyed it.

We went for a meal at the restaurant and had such a lovely evening. The staff were so welcoming and laid back about us putting a few decorations up for an anniversary celebration. Cant wait to go back. Had a really lovely night. Especially good service by Phoebe! :)

It takes a great team with an even greater captain to run a successful hotel. The Gibside is a hidden gem with a high standard of excellence. Free carparking couldn't be easier and just a few steps to the hotel entrance. The lady on reception was charming and very helpful. My room had a huge bed with pillows to die for, so I had a great night's sleep. The ensuite was modern and there was plenty of hot water. I'm not a huge breakfast eater, but really you could have anything you want. The dining room was pristine and, like everywhere else, spotless. I wish I could have stayed longer at the Gibside

Sunday lunch excellent. Might be helpful to offer smaller portions for those of us with diminishing appetites. Access difficult and clearer internal signage would be helpful. Lovely staff.
