The clinic relocated to Livingstone Road in 2007 to deliver first-class osteopathic care to the community. Our team includes osteopaths James Miles-Christiansen and Sian Trayling, acupuncturist Andrew Kingsley, and sports massage therapist Taryn Stevenson. Recognised as one of Baths premier clinics, we specialise in osteopathy, acupuncture, sports massage, sports injury rehabilitation, and paediatric care. With over 40 years of combined experience, our practitioners are registered professionals committed to continuous professional development. Dave Inman, a former England karate junior athlete, graduated from the British School of Osteopathy and has held senior roles in sports medicine, including with the British Karate Federation.

Services
Osteopathy
Osteopathy at Oldfield Osteopathic Clinic focuses on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal and systemic issues through hands-on techniques. Our practitioners address back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, and postural problems by targeting root causes rather than symptoms. Tailored treatments utilise stretching, joint mobilisation, and soft tissue manipulation to restore mobility and alleviate pain. With over 40 years of combined experience, our osteopaths prioritise individualised care, ensuring long-term wellness for patients aged six months to 96 years.
Paediatric Osteopathy
Specialised paediatric osteopathy addresses developmental and musculoskeletal concerns in infants, children, and teenagers. Sian Trayling, our paediatric specialist, employs gentle techniques like cranial osteopathy to treat colic, feeding difficulties, and postural imbalances. Collaborating with lactation consultants and healthcare professionals, we ensure holistic care for newborns to adolescents. Treatments focus on enhancing mobility, relieving discomfort, and supporting healthy growth, with a strong emphasis on parental education and follow-up care.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture at our clinic integrates traditional Chinese medicine with modern techniques to treat chronic pain, stress, and systemic conditions. Andrew Kingsley uses fine needles to stimulate energy flow (Qi), targeting issues like migraines, arthritis, and hormonal imbalances. Treatments may include electro-acupuncture and moxibustion to enhance therapeutic effects. Backed by WHO recommendations, our approach combines symptom relief with long-term wellness strategies, including lifestyle and dietary advice.
Sports Massage
Sports massage therapy targets injury prevention, recovery, and performance enhancement for athletes. Taryn Stevenson employs deep tissue techniques, trigger point therapy, and stretching to alleviate muscle tension and improve flexibility. Treatments address common sports injuries like sprains, strains, and tendonitis, while promoting circulation and reducing inflammation. Ideal for both amateur and professional athletes, sessions are tailored to individual training regimens and recovery needs.
TOG GaitScan
TOG GaitScan technology assesses walking and running patterns to identify biomechanical inefficiencies. This advanced system detects imbalances contributing to foot, knee, hip, or back pain, enabling custom orthotic solutions. By analysing pressure distribution and gait cycles, we create targeted interventions to improve posture, reduce injury risk, and enhance athletic performance. Ideal for patients with chronic pain or those seeking optimised mobility.

I would like to thank my fabulous osteopath and friend of 10 years standing David Inman for his advice on what is the best neck pillow to relieve my neck pain. It has really worked a treat after just one night’s useage. I am just so delighted and over the moon and can’t thank Dave enough for this. If anyone needs a well recommended osteopath for… any pain they are experiencing - I cannot rate Dave highly enough. A thoroughly down to earth chap who knows his craft inside and out and we, if you live in Bath and the local area are very fortunate to have him amongst us.

I highly recommend a visit to Dave and his team should you find yourself in need of an Osteopath. I have used Dave for many years for different running induced ailments and I simply cannot speak highly enough… of him, I would never go to anyone else. They take the time to get to know you and take a real interest in their patients, and nothing ever feels like it's too much trouble. Simply amazing.
