The only thing of value in this world is love. In this love the world is your home and all barriers that separate you from one another are destroyed. We live our lives embeded in matter lit from within. Yoga is a path which can lead us inwards to that Divine spark which gives meaning to life and death and the experiences sandwiched in between.
Yoga is all those practices that enable you to discover health ~ which is not the absence of the symptoms of sickness, but which is wholeness and holiness ~ an inner state of being in which there is no division at all.

Report
Yoga is now acknowledged as a way towards creating an improved sense of well-being that includes all aspects of ourselves - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Our Yoga classes are designed not to fit any model but rather to serve the needs of the people participating in them. TYA teachers are trained to a high standard in structural anatomy as well as in the disciplines and philosophy of Yoga.
Teacher Training
Report
We have all had teachers who inspire us. The TYA believes that such teachers have themselves been taught well. The TYA Teachers Training Course is organised as an apprenticeship programme. This means that in addition to group learning there is personal contact between student-teachers and their Tutor.
Yoga Courses
Report
The Traditional Yoga Association(R) runs several courses including a Foundation Course, Teachers Training Course, Meditation Course and Yoga Pathway (Marga Course). All of these are to a high standard in both modern aspects of Yoga like physiology and the dynamics of movement as well as the ancient roots of Yoga.

We tend to think of our nervous system ~ of which the brain is part ~ as ready and receptive to signals coming to us from the world, through our senses and then via the brain to body. Thus we answer, we laugh, we run, we swallow, etc. In truth, our brain is not a one-way street : it is also constantly receiving signals from the body.
Mukti
Report
As part of the TYA we established the Mukti Project to raise funds for and awareness of, those whose lives are lived without what many of us take for granted: a home, an education, a loving environment. These funds raised through the supporters of this project is ring-fenced and, apart from a very small annual admin cost, all funds raised go to the intended projects.
