We had a delicious family meal (two families of four, with teenage children) just before Christmas and the food was - without exception - delicious, and the staff friendly and welcoming. The braised ox cheek with red wine jus, leek and creamed potato was superb. All other dishes were excellent too: rump steak, stuffed peppers, local lamb cutlets, pan-fried cod, etc. Pleasant wind-down afterwards by the fireside: cognac, whisky (from a large a varied section) and port. Highly recommended.

My girlfriend and I stopped off here for a night on the way back from Scotland and couldnt have been happier. Six hours Driving down from the Isle of Mull and we landed at the front door of this all awesome rustic spot. We settled in by the fire with a crispy ale and a packet of salt vinegar crisps absolute heaven. Dinner was delicious. The father son duo worked on our starter of seared scallops and as soon as it was ready we were invited to sit down in the dining room where we cracked open a bottle of Chardonnay and eliminated these deliciously seared goodies. The second course was a combination

Wednesday night in October, and just turned up for a meal in bar. Plenty of space, but busy enough to feel comfortable. Really nice experience all round, good service, beer, and food. It is restaurant quality food and prices, even though in bar, so don't expect pub prices, but our meals were top quality and we had a lovely evening so very happy and would definitely go again.
