Sometimes life challenges require careful reflection. Difficult experiences, tensions in relationships or the impact of trauma can throw us off-balance. Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to start to regain equilibrium - to consider changed priorities and then bringing those into day-to-day living.

Lynn Greenwood works with adults and adolescents who want to gain insight into their behavioural and emotional patterns and responses so that they can make changes in their lives. Some enter psychotherapy to seek greater personal and professional fulfilment. Others find themselves trapped in destructive patterns in relationships, including their relationship with themselves.

Psychotherapy
Report
People seek psychotherapy for a variety of reasons. However, the underlying 'thread' is that they feel their life isn't as fulfilling as they would want - or perhaps that they are experiencing seemingly relentless discontentment and even unhappiness. Everyone's experience of psychotherapy is different, reflecting their individuality and the particular challenges they face.
Addictions
Report
Addictions - whether to alcohol, drugs, gambling, work, sex (the list can be endless) - are a way of trying to escape overwhelmingly difficult feelings. The bottle or the pills or the scratch cards (or whatever) initially appear to offer momentary escape. However, they don't address underlying problems and end up causing life to spiral out of control.
Supervision
Report
Having worked both in private practice and within organisations, Lynn is well placed to provide supervision to individuals (qualified or in training) or teams. As well as in-depth expertise of working with a variety of clients, many with complex needs, she also understands the dynamics that can affect treatment in an institutional setting.
Television/media
Report
A duty of care towards contributors is now a crucial element of many television programmes. A psychological assessment (psych test) is now standard for most contributors to observational or reality television shows. However, this may be only the beginning: a production company's duty of care continues throughout filming and beyond transmission.
