Report
In 2008 the gym founded its hugely successful Academy Programme for young people aged 14-19, with an ethos of "education through sport" - to encourage youth enterprise and work opportunities, combat teenage obesity, and divert young people away from gangs and crime.

The Academy, which started with no funding and six students in 2008, now works with up to 60 young people each week, on a full-time and part-time basis, working in partnership with Newham and Tower Hamlets Local Authorities, as well as a group of local schools. The Academy's success has been recognized by variety of bodies including the Times (TES) National Teaching Awards.
