Founded in 1974, GSM Graphic Arts was the founding company of the GSM group. Based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, they specialised in the manufacture of metal nameplates and labels. Rapid growth followed and in 1979, Valtech Industries was purchased and moved to the Thirsk site, bringing machining and fabricating capabilities to GSM for the first time
