I'm descended from a family of Norfolk and Suffolk Flour Millers. My Great Grandfather, Robert Read, started milling in Beccles in the late 1800's. I'm always conscious of how similar, at a fundamental level, the coffee roasting and flour milling processes actually are. With South Westerly views across Honeycombe Wood, just to the South of Sherborne, we've been roasting speciality beans here in North Dorset for over sixteen years.

Our roast style, more traditional than some ultra-light antipodean methods, creates a smooth, bold result with an element of caramelisation, allowing our beans to develop full body for our espresso roasts, whilst offering controlled acidity, through complete development, for our lighter roasts. Once roasted, the coffee is promptly packed by hand before being rested and prepared for dispatch.
