Due to the ongoing increase of new pet ownership and the national shortage of Vets and Vet Nurses, we have had to make the difficult decision to close our waiting list to new clients until further notice. This is to ensure we can continue to maintain our high level of care to our existing clients and patients.
We will be reviewing this monthly and once we have caught up with our already lengthy waiting list, we will reopen it again. St Peter's Vets is a dedicated small animal practice previously known as St Peter's Veterinary Group that was established over 60 years ago. St Peter's Vets has surgeries in Petersfield, Horndean, Liss and Farlington in Hampshire.

About Us
Report
Friends from vet school days and back from service with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps during WW11, Richard Hartley and Charles Foden founded St Peter's Vets in Petersfield in 1947. The practice became quickly established and further vets were recruited to treat predominantly horses and farm animals in the area around Petersfield.
Nurse clinic consultations
Report
A consultation with a veterinary nurse can be booked at our Petersfield, Horndean and Farlington surgeries. There are no nurse clinics held at our Liss surgery. Our nurses will attempt to give any tablet or application to your pet in the surgery - just let us know what they need. Our nurses will weigh your pet and discuss current diet, exercise and provide advice on how to reduce their weight safely and how to maintain a healthy weight.
Microchipping
Report
Having a microchip implanted by one of our veterinary surgeons or nurses is quick and simple and ensures that should the worst happen and your pet goes missing, you have the best chance of being reunited with them. You only need to have the microchip implanted once as it should last for the lifetime of your pet.
Pet Travel
Report
For many years now, since the introduction of the Pet Travel Scheme, travelling abroad with your pet has been relatively simple. Great Britain has become a Part 2 Listed Status under the EU Pet Travel Scheme. Which means if you wish to travel into and around the EU including travel from the UK to Northern Island you will need an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) issued in the UK.
Laparoscopic Spay
Report
Female dog neutering; the spay operation perfomed by laparoscopy; a new "keyhole" approach. For many years, vets have recommended that, unless there are plans to breed from her, a female dog should be neutered at a young age to remove the risk of some diseases. For this reason vets regularly perform the spay operation on female dogs.
