I would have no hesitation in recommending Lakeside as somewhere for people with dementia or other serious mental illness. There is a high level of commitment to providing a positive experience and constructive activity.
The staff work as a team, are very compassionate and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. My family, friends and I have always found Lakeside to be friendly and supportive to us all, with a warm welcome. The communication with Lakeside is excellent, as we are always kept fully informed of his condition and changes to routines.

I have recommended 'Lakeside' to a family and they are very satisfied with the ethos care provided. From day one, my wife and I knew that the focus should not be on superficial luxurious surroundings that are often signs of things lacking elsewhere, but on providing a family environment where residents and their families could feel relaxed and happy.

The food is excellent with a good variety and always home cooked from scratch, using good quality ingredients. Lakeside provides a comprehensive list of care services over a 24-hour period. Each of our specialist services is suitable for both the short and long-term care of the elderly suffering from dementia or mental illness.

The name 'Namaste' was given very specifically because of its meaning, which is, "to honour the spirit within". Residents that require this type of care don't take heed of the day of the week and nor do we. For this reason, Namaste Care is provided seven days of the week. As well as gently tending to their needs, our staff involve them in a variety of meaningful activities by using a specialised "loving touch" approach.

Every room at Lakeside is different and has its own character, enhanced by people's personal possessions and decorations. All rooms are beautifully and comfortably furnished. Residents are supported to do as much or as little as they would like and are key to choosing the activities and events that are offered.
