About Us
Report
Located in the heart of a historic town in the picturesque county of Somerset, Glastonbury Galleries is an established gallery and picture framing business. Taught by her father (the artist John Morland) Ruth then took over the picture framing side of the business 25 years ago. During this time she qualified as a Guild Commended Framer and the business has developed a reputation of providing a dynamic and trustworthy service to its customers.

When I was six, after the death of my father, I came from my first home on the edge of Dartmoor to live in Glastonbury. My mother's house backed right onto the Tor, and its mysterious presence, as much a threshold of darkness as of light, awoke in me great awe for sacred landscape that has continued throughout my life.

I take photographs because I'm interested in anything beautiful, but particularly the natural world. I just love nature; I love the creative process, and tuning in to my own interpretation of the subject; trying to express my feelings about what I see. I hope to get my message across in my images: - peace and joy through beauty.

Report
We are now in the fourth year of organizing this fabulous exhibition and as we will be taking a break next year, we are aiming even higher this year with an even more spectacular show. This year we have combined both canvasses (as last year) AND mounted, glazed and framed pictures (as in the two years prior) - the artists have been able to choose the best format to suit their work, so in theory, everyone can participate!
