Family-Friendly Farm Stay in Devon
West Middlewick Farm is a family-run agricultural enterprise nestled in the heart of rural Devon. Our farm offers a unique blend of traditional farming practices and sustainable tourism, providing visitors with immersive experiences in a working farm environment. We specialise in diverse accommodation options including camping, caravanning, glamping pods, and self-catering log cabins, all designed to connect guests with nature. Our commitment to environmental stewardship is evident in our conservation efforts, including wildflower meadow restoration, ancient tree preservation, and sustainable livestock management. The farm produces award-winning free-range milk from grass-fed cows, alongside pork, beef, and lamb, available through our extended farm shop.We actively promote biodiversity through habitat creation around our 20-acre fishing lake and along the River Dalch, which flows through our property. Our historical Westway Mill and Old Mill Leat serve as ecological sanctuaries while preserving local heritage. The Gibson family has operated this enterprise for multiple generations, maintaining a closed dairy herd of British Friesians and Jerseys that produce A2 milk renowned for its digestibility. We offer educational opportunities through farm visits, wildlife observation, and seasonal events that showcase British agricultural traditions. Our location between Exmoor and Dartmoor provides an ideal base for exploring Devon's natural landscapes while enjoying the tranquility of rural life.

Spent a lovely 4 day break over Christmas In the Otter Lodge, could not have asked for more. The lodge was beautifully decorated, real Christmas tree and Christmas ornaments in all rooms, really made our Christmas complete. We managed to order most of our provisions from the farm shop, nothing was too much trouble for the owners, excellent place to stay.

We camped in my van here for one night and I can't compliment this place enough. A beautiful site with lovely healthy animals and great facilities. The price per night was really good too. The staff were super friendly and not flustered at all by the rush of customers picking up their Christmas food orders whilst we were checking out.
Looking forward to coming back soon :)

I cannot rate West Middlewick Farm highly enough. What a fantastic place to stay! Everybody so friendly and helpful. You can walk around this working farm (within reason) and visit the Calves, Pigs, Goats and various other animals. The cabins are kept to a very high standard and the farm shop is well stocked with the essentials, a supermarket and local shops in Tiverton are a short drive away. Nice local walks and a couple of pubs nearby serving good food. Very hard to find a place that is dog friendly and so welcoming. We had a great time.

We spent 6 days at the farm in the overflow field. Main camping field is adjacent to farm sheds and where pigmy goats, ducks and chickens come out to mingle.
Overflow field has cows in adjacent field but far enough away they never bothered our dogs. Nice farm shop on site, open every day.
Toilet blocks were clean
Bin area was my only disappointment, as dumpsters were very dirty and at the area around could do with tidying. Dog bin was not emptied while we were there so was very smelly. Nice people though, very friendly and half decent views from the overflow field.

Stayed for half a week camping. Nice plot. Good facilities. Friendly owners. Lots of animals to spend a bit of time with. Farm shop is cool and sell fresh made on spot milkshakes. Charge for Wi-Fi is madness though

The cabins are great, home from home experience. John and Team are great, friendly and very welcoming. We were aloud to wonder the working farm and look at the animals they keep. An amazing experience for the kids too. Definitely recommend
