I am a Food Technology teacher by profession and also spent three years in the Cake Decorating department of Bettys Craft Bakery, Harrogate. One of my proudest achievements there was to have worked on a Jubilee Cake for Buckingham Palace. After leaving teaching I decided to concentrate on my cakes again and Cakes by Design was set up as a home based business in 2010.
My business is registered, I have Level 2 certificate in Food Safety and Hygiene for Catering and a 5* rating for Food Safety and Kitchen Hygiene as awarded by the Food Standards Agency after the inspection of my premises. I create cakes for all occasions: Weddings, Anniversaries, Christenings and Birthdays and many more.
