Explore Tenbury Wells' Rich History
Established in 1977, Tenbury Museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich social history and heritage of Tenbury Wells and its surrounding district. Administered by the Tenbury Museum and History Group, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, we provide a public resource through our extensive collections, educational programs, and community engagement initiatives. Our mission is to advance public education by maintaining a museum that collects, preserves, and displays items of historical interest, while promoting research and conservation of the town's heritage. The museum is managed by a Governing Committee elected annually, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers who ensure the preservation of our collections and the delivery of engaging visitor experiences. We offer a diverse program of educational activities, including school sessions, hands-on workshops, and public talks, all designed to connect local residents and visitors with the area's history.

Our collections span from archaeological finds to 20th-century domestic artifacts, reflecting the agricultural, commercial, and civic life of Tenbury Wells. As a charity reliant on public donations and volunteer support, we actively seek funding through grants, memberships, and community fundraising initiatives to sustain our operations and expand our offerings. Our commitment to accessibility and community involvement is evident in our free admission policy, outreach programs, and collaborative projects such as the Hidden Tenbury digital heritage initiative. Through these efforts, we strive to ensure that Tenbury Wells' historical legacy remains accessible and relevant for future generations.
