Our setting is registered for 105 children and provides excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. Our building is single storey and conveniently situated in Bury. The nursery is easily accessible from across Bury and the surrounding areas and has excellent links to the M60, M66 and A58 for those travelling from further afield.

First Steps Nursery was registered in 2010 to provide high quality childcare for children in the Walshaw, Tottington, Elton, Woodbank and surrounding areas of Bury. The setting is registered for 146 children and provides excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. We pride ourselves on providing high quality, child-centred, holistic care for your child in a secure, comfortable setting.
Babies

With a staff to baby ratio of 1:3 our baby room is the most intimate and cosiest room. From day one we build good relationships with our parents and careers, working to your routine for your individual child. The nursery provides an online system (parent zone) in which parents can access throughout the day to let you know what activities your child has been participating in.
Toddlers

Our Happy Hedgehogs room caters for children aged 12 months to 2 years. This room is designed for children who are getting ready to explore the areas around them. The environment is set up to encourage children's independence. The room is spacious allowing inquisitive minds to explore.
The room offers a wide variety of activities for the children with a range of messy and creative activities such as sticking, painting and a well-equipped sand and water area.Our Dashing Deers room currently allows children from the age of two to thrive and develop whilst being encouraged to engage in play that appeals to them, with the staff supporting each individual child's learning and development.

Pre School

First Steps Nursery is very proud of our Pre-School and the experiences we offer to the children who attend. Children who attend the Pre-School will have more of a structured day where there will be some direct teaching. The children will begin the Letters and Sounds programme which they will continue to develop through their first years at school.
