The company started in the 1930's by 'William Eastell'. He had a successful career as a manager at Salts Mill in the textile Industry but as the country went into recession he retired and set up a market garden and later a nursery and garden centre on Shipley Glen. In 1937 he purchased 99/101 Kirkgate, Shipley to sell his flowers which were originally homegrown, as well as plants, fruit and vegetables.
