Matthew Nicholson has specialised in criminal defence law since the early 1990's. In 1998 he was recruited to be one of the first ever public defence lawyers in the UK. After many successes here, he left to set up CN Defence lawyers in 2002. All of the lawyers are in the firm are experienced criminal lawyers who are trusted and respected members of the criminal defence bar.

We anticipated this change and established a 24 hour service to provide a lawyer to help you when you are at the police station at any time, day or night. You should always ask for our lawyers to be informed immediately if you are to be questioned by the police.

C & N Defence are proud to be registered with the Scottish Legal Aid Board. This allows us to offer Criminal Legal Assistance to you if you are being charged with a criminal offence. You could be eligible for free legal advice even if you are currently working. If you are not entitled to legal aid we still are happy to offer all clients a free of charge initial consultation.
