Antique mirror glass creates a very attractive feature in kitchens and bathrooms. Typically splashbacks are toughened, particularly if positioned right next to a heat source. Aesthetically it works well with both traditional and contemporary kitchens for splashbacks, and its ability to hide splash-marks helps on a practical level too.
We offer a wide variety of Antique Mirror. From bespoke hand finished styles to ready-made antique mirror glass sheets, ready to be cut, shaped, polished and fitted. Our handmade styles are silvered and hand distressed in our workshop, allowing full control over the intensity of antiquing. Concentrated or darkened perimiter edges can be applied if required and these styles can be made in any colour scheme.

Please find below answers to common questions about antique mirror glass, installations and lead times that we are regularly asked. Yes, Saligo Design offers 4 styles that can be toughened, namely; Vintage, Mottled, Mercury and Speckled. All other styles in our range cannot be toughened.
Toughening involves a process of intense heat treatment and as such any ready-made mirror or antique mirror panel undergoing toughening would result in the silver being burnt off.However, At Saligo Design we can toughen already cut glass panels and then after the toughening process is complete then we silver these panels creating a perfect mirror for our fine artist to distress.

One of the most dramatic approaches to the use of antique mirror glass is to clad an entire wall with it. This can generate an almost sculptural effect in terms of altering and manipulating the quality of space. Variations in the way that the panels of mirror are organised and the degree to which they are antiqued offer a huge range of possibilities to explore.
We offer a full installation service with the supply of antiqued mirror (as well as a supply-only option). I have just had my chimney breast cladded with original vintage distressed mirrors, and it looks fantastic, a true show stopper. I'm so pleased with the result. There doesn't appear to be anything else on the market that can rival the vintage style it truly is a piece of art and speaks for itself, thank you Saligo.
