What is Osteopathy
Report
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.
Back Pain and Sciatica
Report
Your back is a complex structure of bones, muscles, joints and nerves and, because of this, back pain is a very common condition for osteopaths to treat. From heavy lifting and moving awkwardly to trapped nerves and slipped or prolapsed discs, there are many reasons for back pain. This is why it's important that the correct cause is diagnosed so an appropriate treatment plan can be developed for you.
Joint Pain
Report
For your body to work well, its needs to function well. Joint pain - including knee and hip pain - can be debilitating and painful. We use gentle massage techniques to ease the pain and joint discomfort experienced and and can help with rehabilitation following surgery. The knee is the largest joint in the body and, as such, is a major weight baring joint.
Sports Injuries
Report
We treat numerous sporting injuries on a regular basis, focusing on rehabilitation and conditioning. We also help with rehabilitation following surgery. As a member of the Osteopathic Sports Care Association and with a long history in sport, both participating and assisting others, Simon has extensive experience of sporting injuries that can occur.
Deep Tissue Massage
Report
Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscle. By using slow movement and direct deep pressure, we concentrate on areas of tension and pain to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the connective tissue surrounding those muscles. Deep Tissue Massage is a technique that can be used to treat a number of conditions including back pain, sporting injuries, sciatica, repetitive strain injury, postural issues and general muscle tension.
