Nicole graduated as a dentist in Germany at the University of Jena in 2002, where she started working as a dentist and clinical demonstrator for students in the department of restorative and aesthetic dentistry and the department of prosthetics. During this 4 year period, she undertook postgraduate research in children's dentistry where she gained her higher doctorate in dentistry in 2006 (similar to a PhD in England).
