An MOT is a visual check to make sure your vehicle meets the safety and environmental standards of the roads. Your MOT is done annually after the third anniversary of your vehicle registration. You can get an MOT up to a month (minus a day) before it runs out and keep the same renewal date. MOT Tests were set up in 1960, and is actually a legal requirement for a car that is three years old and over to have an MOT test.
