Your Local Pub in Macclesfield Serving Fresh Local Cuisine
The Windmill has been a cherished part of Cheshire's hospitality scene since October 2012, when the Nixon family took ownership. Nestled near the Middlewood Way and Macclesfield Canal, with views of the Peak District, our establishment combines rural charm with modern hospitality. Under the leadership of Pete and Jane Nixon, we have cultivated a reputation for serving fresh, seasonal menus crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Our Head Chef George Nixon has spearheaded culinary innovation for five years, while Daisy Nixon manages digital operations and front-of-house service.

We prioritise partnerships with regional suppliers like Barrows Butchers and Bidlea Dairy to ensure quality. The pub's commitment to local provenance extends to our award-winning selection of Cheshire-brewed ales and carefully curated wine list. Our team takes pride in creating welcoming experiences for both residents and visitors. Through consistent family stewardship, we maintain traditional pub values while embracing contemporary hospitality standards. The Windmill remains dedicated to evolving with customer needs while preserving its community-focused ethos.

We went to the windmill on Sunday with our 2 children and dog. We used to go regularly in the past but stopped going as we moved slightly further afield. The food was really nice. Good kids menu and nice specials for adults to try something different. Staff were friendly and even though it was busy it didnt take long for the food to arrive.
