John Wray Took over the family Farm in 1985 and made his living as a dairy farmer. In 1990 John bought and sold his first Aga and slowly began to build it as a business until it eventually took over from the farming. The company has expanded since then adding more products, brands and services to accommodate all our customer needs.
In 2008 John's son-in-law Stuart joined the company with a view to keeping it as a family run business and together they are carrying the business forward and hope to keep the company growing. The business operated from the farm located in Catterick Village on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales until 2016 when we moved to bigger premises and opened our country cafe.

Re-conditioned Aga Cookers
Report
After years of use they will often become very scruffy looking and will also need the working parts replacing. That is where we come in! Here at JWCS we pride ourselves on the ability to make any Aga work and look as good as new. We will do whatever is necessary to make a cooker look brand new, then we will discard the working parts i.e. the burner/element and control and replace it with a brand new up to date model.
All cookers from John Wray Country Stoves are delivered within 100 miles free of charge when installed by one of our trained fitters. John Wray Country Stoves provides a full maintenance and parts service for the cookers.

We have teamed up with Oil Warm UK to bring you a new type of reconditioned Aga Cooker by radically re-engineering the inner construction without taking away the benefits you love. They can all be independently heat controlled meaning you can be frying on one hob, simmering on the other while roasting in the oven or just have on whatever you need when you want it.
The Aga Range Cooker has a cast-iron body which is a dense, strong and stable metal enabling heat absorption, storage and transmission. The heat is released in the form of radiant heat, it is this radiant heat that gives the cooker the ability to cook food all day and keep it warm for hours whilst preserving the flavour, moisture and texture of the food.
