Mimram Veterinary Centre
Mimram Veterinary Centre can be found at 31 Church Street in the heart of picturesque Old Welwyn Village. The building itself is about 150 years old and has a somewhat interesting past during which time it has served as, amongst other things, a police station and a butchers. We have sympathetically refurbished the building in keeping with the ambience of the village.

Since opening, the practice has grown from one vet, one nurse and one receptionist to six vets, five nurses and eight receptionists. Between them, the staff have a wealth of knowledge, not only on the health and welfare of animals but also on general animal matters, training and behavioural problems.
Services
Careers
Report
We believe in investing in our people, surgery, facilities, equipment and latest technology so that we provide outstanding veterinary care for our patients and their owners. We're always on the lookout for more talented people, just like you, to come and join us. We have an exciting opportunity for a for a full time customer care focused Veterinary Receptionist to join our practice.
Patient Care
Report
Two bright and airy recovery/kennel rooms the main kennel room is for our day patients and we have a second smaller one tucked away upstairs for nervous animals who need a quieter environment. The kennels are purpose built, made from fibreglass and insulated to keep your pets warmer and reduce noise during post-operative recovery.
Pet Insurance
Report
People tend to think it's only older pets that get ill and therefore younger pets don't need pet insurance but we know from the patients we see each day that that is not the case. In fact, the younger your pet is when you insure them the better as it means you are less likely to have any existing conditions, which may not be covered by the policy and you can then receive more help covering the cost of any future treatment your pet needs.
RCVS Practice Standards Scheme
Report
We are proud to say that Mimram Veterinary Centre achieved RCVS Accredited General Practice status and has maintained that status since 2005. The RCVS scheme began in 2005 as a way for veterinary businesses to be independently inspected and accredited.

The accreditation process is continual and is designed to reassure clients that the veterinary practice they have chosen for their pet maintains high standards and conforms to all relevant UK regulations.
Referrals
Report
On occasion your pet may present with a complex condition that requires specialist diagnostics or procedures. Over the years we have worked closely with several local specialist centres that we will refer you to in that event. In addition, you can book in with specialist vets in Orthopaedics, Opthlmology and Dermatology right here at the Mimram Veterinary Centre.
