Services
Montessori Curriculum
Our Montessori curriculum follows Maria Montessori's principles of child-led learning with structured materials. Children engage with practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics, and cultural activities designed to develop independence and concentration. The program aligns with EYFS requirements while maintaining Montessori's emphasis on hands-on exploration and self-directed learning.
Child Care
We provide comprehensive childcare for children from 3 months to 5 years old. Our qualified staff deliver personalized care in age-specific units with tailored activities. The service includes flexible session options, hot meals, and individual development plans created in partnership with parents to support each child's unique needs.
Pre-School Education
Our pre-school program prepares children for primary school through structured Montessori activities. Children develop literacy, numeracy, and social skills while learning practical life skills like dressing and table manners. The curriculum includes transition activities such as PE lessons and extended focus periods to ease the move to formal schooling.
Outdoor Play
Children access our fully enclosed garden with multiple learning zones including a digging pit, planting area, climbing equipment, and outdoor classroom. Daily outdoor sessions promote physical development through balancing challenges, water play, and nature exploration while fostering environmental awareness through gardening and bug observation.
Nature-Based Learning
At Kings Lodge, our nature-based program combines Montessori principles with outdoor exploration. Children engage in daily nature walks, gardening activities, and environmental studies at Iford Meadows and River Stour. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning through seasonal changes, plant cultivation, and wildlife observation to develop ecological awareness.

Our little girl has been at Kings Castle since she was thirteen months old and is now just left to start school. Placing her in the nurturing care of the team there remains one of the very best decisions we made for our little lady. The King Castle team are a like-minded, caring lot - and our child loves to go to spend the day with them. She’s… learnt so much, she surprises us daily.

And whilst we’re sad that she’ll be leaving, the team have prepared the journey onwards with such care that our girl is excited to be starting the next leg of her personal journey. I cannot

Our daughter has been at Kings Castle since she was 12 months old (now three years) and she ABSOLUTELY loves it. She comes home after every session so happy, telling us all about her day. She has developed so much and thanks to the staff at Kings Castle (and us of course) is growing in to a fantastic, intelligent, polite and sociable little lady. I genuinely cannot thank the team there enough, from the baby room to where she is now they have all been AMAZING. Five star recommendation all the way, and if there were more stars Id use those as well!

I cannot fault this nursery. My son has attended here since he was 10 months old and is now due to go to 'big school' this year. The staff have been so supportive and understanding. Always there to listen and very approachable. My nearly 4 year old son surprises me most days with something he's learned here. Today on collection he wanted me to stay and watch him finish his picture he was colouring in. He has also made some really lovely friendships here with other children and teachers. We will both be sad to leave the nursery come September. Thank you Kings.
