Foot pain is never normal, and will never go away on it's own. With more and more people working from home it's easy to neglect your feet and foot injuries are becoming more common as we spend more time on lockdown. Stay focused on your wellness goals for 2021 and make the most of things by getting your feet in shape.

An ingrowing or very curved toenail can be extremely painful. Sometimes it's caused by a break or being cut incorrectly, leaving a sharp spike in the groove. If left untreated, it will certainly cause pain and may lead to infection. Most cases of plantar fasciitis can be treated with a comination of therapies such as orthotics (insoles), exercises and other treatments which the podiatrist will recommend to you.
Services
Podiatry
Report
You can learn more about the most common types of foot problems here, but the foundation of any lasting, effective care begins by talking to your Podiatrist. Our feet rarely get a break. Locked away unseen for much of the day in damp, confined quarters and then made to stand in a dirty puddle while the rest of the body enjoys a luxurious shower.
Ingrown Toenail Management
Report
An ingrowing toenail is where a part of the nail cuts into the flesh around the toe. These are impossible to treat at home, and can be made worse by attempting to cut away the corner of the nail. This not only causes bleeding but leaves a nasty spike digging into the flesh. Often it can cause pain and bleeding, and may even lead to infection if left untreated.
Fungal Toenail Management
Report
Fungal nail infections begin as small discolourations under the toenail. Over time the nail thickens, becomes discoloured and eventually so brittle it can fall off. The first step is to identify what kind of infection it is - not all are caused by fungi. Once identified, it's much easier to start treatment.
Bunion Management
Report
A bunion is a painful red swelling at the base of the big toe and can cause an extreme amount of pain when walking. It's a deformity of the metatarsophalangeal joint (MTPJ); the metatarsal being the long bone that runs from your midfoot to meet your toes (the phalanges part). Take a look at our 3D model of the human foot so you can more easily visualise where the bones run from and to.
Custom Orthotics
Report
Sometimes the foot requires long-term support and control that an off-the-shelf orthotic can't easily provide. Custom-made orthotics can last several years and are made from much harder-wearing materials moulded to the exact contours of your feet. This service is only available once a full standard Orthotic Therapy or Sport Podiatry assessment is performed, and is for custom-prescribed and crafted orthotics as well as initial fitting.
