About Us
Report
Finsbury Health Centre built between 1935 and 1938 as part of the 'Finsbury Plan' was an initiative by Alderman Harold Riley and Dr Katial, Chairman of the Public Health Committee to provide better conditions for the borough's residents. It was the first public commission of Berthold Lubetkin and Tecton (an association of London architects) who were important in the Modern Movement in architecture.
Emergencies
Report
Between the hours of 6.30-8pm on Monday to Friday, and from 8am-8pm on Saturday and Sunday, all calls will be answered by the reception team at I:HUB who will deal with your call appropriately. Between the hours of 8pm-8am each day, please call 111 (NHS Urgent Care number). Please note, our phone lines are switched over to Care UK on Wednesday afternoons from 1pm, to allow our reception staff to have ongoing training.
Prescriptions
Report
Some regular medication can be issued on a repeat basis so you do not have to see a doctor each time. However we will not issue a repeat prescription when you are due for a review of your medication. We now offer a service for patients on stable medication, where we can give you a 6-12 month prescription to take to your chemist.
New Patients
Report
It is essential that all students register with a local doctors' surgery when they move into their new accommodation, whether it be a Hall of Residence, house or flat. This will provide you with easy access to the full range of medical services during your time at University. We have allocated a Named Accountable GP for all of our registered patients.
Patient Group
Report
We want our patients to become more involved in decisions about the range and quality of services we currently provide, and to help us move forwards with any new services we may commission in the future. We therefore started a Patient Participation Group (PPG) in 2011 which meets every few months to discuss important issues.
