With over four decades in dance education, Philip is a former IDTA president and examiner. His expertise shapes our technical curriculum while maintaining the studio's heritage since the 1930s. Philip ensures our teaching standards remain industry-leading through continuous professional development.

Christine Diment

Director

An established championship adjudicator, Christine oversees our Freestyle programs and studio operations. Her 40-year career combines competition judging with nurturing student development. Christine maintains strong community connections while managing our team of professional instructors.

Questions

What dance styles do you teach?

We offer Ballroom, Latin, Commercial Pop, Dance Fusion, Argentine Tango, Musical Theatre, Freestyle, and Line Dance classes for all ages and abilities.

Do I need a dance partner?

No partner required - our classes accommodate solo dancers with rotating partners. One-to-one lessons are also available for individual instruction.

Are there age restrictions?

We teach ages 3 to adult. Children's classes start at 18 months (Dinky Movers) while adult classes have no upper age limit.

Can you help with wedding dances?

Yes, our specialist wedding dance instructors create custom choreography for first dances, with packages to suit different experience levels and timeframes.

What qualifications do instructors hold?

All teachers hold International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) qualifications with ongoing professional development through seminars and workshops.

Do you offer trial classes?

Decided to learn to dance as a pre-40 challenge... some 16 years later, I'm still going along, and still learning! There's always something new to learn. On top of the regular classes, there are always special courses covering things like charleston, argentine tango, swing jive etc. You can also book one-to-one lessons. The teachers are all incredibly friendly, supportive and will go out of their way to help you. If you've always fancied giving dancing a go, try it... it's a fun way to get fitter (without lycra - unless you really want to) and learn a new skill.

Well soon reach the end of the Sequence Dance course. Its been a fantastic experience! The teaching has been first rate. Marsha and Chris have taken us slowly and painstakingly through all the steps. We may have missed the finer points, and struggled to master entire sequences, but its been great fun! (Kerrie has been incredibly helpful too, pointing us in the right direction when weve got lost!)
I have massive admiration for all the DM teachers. Their expertise and patience is fantastic. We have private lessons with Phil and Marsha who are both great teachers. (Im sure herding

I started dancing again after a long absence and was really nervous but I didn't need to worry. I started about 4 years ago with Ballroom and Latin and now regularly go to Fusion on a Thursday. I have also done Charleston, Swing Jive, Argentine Tango and Salsa amongst others. I would highly recommend DM Dance Centre for anyone wishing to take up dancing as a new hobby.

Found DM and met Marsha Brown in 2015 when we came for lessons to prevent us looking completely incompetent during our wedding first dance. We were complete dancing newbies and Marsha made us feel so comfortable and welcome. Not only did we wow our wedding guests with the dance she choreographed for us we also fell in love with dancing and made a good friend - we have been having lessons with Marsha ever since.
